Middle Years

At Wyndham Central College the Middle School comprises of Yrs. 7, 8 & 9

Students are supported by their classroom teachers along with the form tutors, the Year Level Leaders, an Assistant Principal – Head of Middle School, and a Middle School Administrative Assistant.

Our aim is to prepare students for the Senior School program and to support them throughout culminating in a successful Year 12.

The curriculum offered is delivered with a focus to academically meet the requirements of the AusVELS as well as delivering the vision of the College to ’ create a community of high expectations’.

We recognise that all people learn differently but most of us have a preference for how we learn best.

Regular level assemblies for Year 7, 8 & 9 students allow the opportunity for presentations and guest speakers on a range of issues.

Years 7 and 8

Students will undertake the following core units in English, Mathematics, Science and SOSE plus a choice in electives. The LOTE offerings are Spanish, Italian & Japanese.

Students will be issued with interim and end of semester reports.

Year 9

In Year 9 the core program plus electives enables students to begin to explore their pathways for the Senior Years Program. The program is also complemented by the Yr. 9 STAR program.

Programs and activities designed specifically for Year 9 students are run throughout the year.
